Do Bad Knees Run in Families?

Are some people more prone to ACL knee injuries because of genetic factors?? Should people who have relatives who have had ACL problems be targeted for exercise regimens that help prevent these injuries? The New York Times reports on a pair of studies that seem to indicated that an increased risk of ACL injury runs in families and may be genetically determined.

While few of us are going to get genetic testing, if you know the history within your family and have a parent or sibling who has had an ACL tear, then you may want to start an ACL injury prevention program.?
