It's World Nordic Walking Day 10-10-10

Nordic Walking GroupNordic walking -- walking with two fitness walking poles -- is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the International Nordic Walking Federation on 10-10-10 with World Nordic Walking Day. In Britain and Europe, they are hosting special nordic walking events.? In the US, the Portland Marathon is again the site of Nordic Walking World Championships today.? The Portland Marathon includes their marathon distance and their 10K Mayor's Walk as part of the championship, to be accessible to more people.

Nordic walking is the best way to pump up your walking workout, adding upper body work and increasing your calories burned per mile. But it is important to learn to do it correctly to get all of the benefits. I see many people using poles in ways that aren't giving them the upper body workout or opening up their chest and shoulders.? It is worthwhile to find a nordic walking coach and get a live lesson.?
